New Delhi: President Ram Nath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the conference of Governors held on the new National Education Policy on Monday via video conferencing. New education policy has been announced by the government in the recent past, which is still being churned. Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in his address that the country's goals can be met only through education policy and it's a system.
"Education policy and the education system are an important means of fulfilling the aspirations of the country. Centre, state government, local bodies, all are attached to the responsibility of the education system. But it is also true that the government, its interference in education policy, its impact, should be minimal," PM Modi said while addressing the virtual conference.
The PM said that the government's interference in education policy should be reduced. The virtual meet 'Role of NEP-2020 in Transforming Higher Education', which is being organised by the Ministry of Education has been attended by education ministers of all states, vice-chancellors of state universities and other senior officials.
