New Delhi: Five years back, on this day (July 15) Skill India Mission was launched by the Modi government to empower the youth of the nation. It is an initiative that focuses on the importance of developing skilled youth and empowering the youth. The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship has organized a digital conclave which was addressed by our Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday (July 15) at 11 am.
While addressing the conclave he explained the mantra that how a person should stay relevant when the work environment and markets are changing so often. He says that the only Mantra to be relevant is to skill, reskill, and upskill. PM Modi further extended by giving his best wishes to youth on the occasion of World Youth Skill Day. The nature of job and work culture has been changed due to the spread of coronavirus but somehow the youth has gained allot in the changing times.
He further differentiated between the concept of knowledge and skill. He cleared the confusion by stating an example that, 'You can read books and watch on the internet how to ride a cycle, this will lead you to gain knowledge but it doesn't ensure that you will be able to ride a cycle. You need skill to actually ride a cycle.' He said skill is a present that we gift ourselves, which grows with every experience. He added that we all should learn new things and we must enhance our skills which will help us in being self-reliant.
