Lucknow: A webinar on the theme of the new Education Policy 2020 was organized at Rajju Bhaiya Center for High Tech Information Dialogues, located at Saraswati Kunj in Nirala Nagar. While conducting the webinar, Vidya Bharati Regional Publicity Head of Eastern Uttar Pradesh region Mr. Saurabh Mishra introduced the honored guests who participated in the webinar.
The Chief Guest, Basic Education Minister of Uttar Pradesh Government Shri Satish Dwivedi while speaking on the New Education Policy 2020 said that the webinar has been organized on a very relevant subject. The main subject in this Education Policy 2020 lays emphasis on basic education only. In this New Education Policy that came after 1986, most of the work has been done on elementary education. After the new government took the Centre in 2014, it started with a churning of thoughts, thereafter discussions with millions of people, a balanced multidisciplinary education policy has emerged. For the first time such an education policy has come up, which will link the Indian Education System with our heritage. In the ideological plane we are associated with, it is said that education builds character and develops virtue.
All its dimensions require extensive discussion. There are four to five points that need to be discussed. The subjects of pre-primary need to be implemented in all educational institutions according to their state. For nurturing children, it has also been affiliated with Anganwadis. There is a need to consider 5 + 3 + 3 + 4. Children have the freedom to choose their favorite subject immediately after passing eighth grade with this new education policy so a foundation for this is needed to be laid from basic education level. The initial teachings should be given in mother tongue as according to the new education policy. There is a need for discussion over this along with appointment of teachers to be done locally. All this requires continuous training every year. Along with this, history, culture, heritage are part of our courses, the manner they could be bought to curriculum, it also needs to be discussed. “There is a need to formulate a comprehensive policy on topics such as Sanskrit language, trilingual formula, vocational education, skill development, entrepreneurship, employment as per today's conditions.
Speaking on the new Education Policy 2020, Secretary, Bharti Education Research Institute, Dr. IP Sharma, said that this opportunity has come after 1985-86 that the former structure is changed to add 5 + 3 + 3 + 4. There is a need to work extensively on connecting children from primary education 0 to 3 to Anganwadi and complete education after 0 to 5 along with training for teachers. Who should give such trainings should also be considered. The curriculum should be built on the basis of local characteristics and local language. The NCERT syllabus does not include moral principles, Indian tradition, historical heritage of the country, and nowadays students have forgotten all these things. For this reason it needs to be included in the syllabus. He said that the curriculum should also be designed to meet the framework of human values and relationships. New experiments should be adopted for teaching. Ways to create a fundamental responsibility within children should also be brought into the curriculum framework. There is also a need for extensive discussion about how technology should be used in the process of teaching through sports, pictures, TV. The process of awarding teachers, good and enthusiastic teachers should be brought into leadership.
Director of Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Department, Dr. Sarvendra Vikram Singh said that the formula of the new education policy is "transfer from lack to development". This is its worship, this new education policy emphasizes on the policy connecting roots to identify the difficulties and build India of a century. There is a need to discuss how to implement the action plan on the ground. This should be seen as an opportunity. There is a need to make an implementation on how to properly teach children before the age of 3 to 6 years. If taught properly to these children, they will develop into skilled readers, skilled students.
All schools should have 100% gross enrollment. Dr. Sarvendra Vikram Singh, while giving his views, said that the emphasis has been on the subject of language and mathematics. With this target, we will be able to fulfill this education policy by 2025. He also said that teaching in class would be difficult without technology. Technology that is available to everyone should be taken into consideration. Establishment of centers for teaching training is necessary. We also have to plan for how to use curriculum and technology to develop creative skills. Action plan will also have to be prepared for girl education. The Honorable Director of Education said that the habit of reading has been lacking, parents have to develop it as a role model. The culture of reading has to be promoted. It has also been said in this policy.
Dr. Jaya Pratap Singh, Regional Minister of Vidya Bharati Eastern Uttar Pradesh, while giving his views in the live webinar said that the most important aspect of this education policy is how we connected with our roots. Today's circumstances have changed. There are new challenges in front. This has been thought deeply in the new education policy. The foreign education models of the past few years have been copied, which led us to break away from our objective. This new education policy has been seriously considered to make youth power not a problem. There should be formal education for children at a young age, such education would be more useful for the society. The density of children is very high in basic education, there is a lack of skilled teachers to teach. How today's education system has collapsed is not hidden from anyone. Important changes are going to come in the coming times. Vidya Bharti will fix all this.
Addressing the webinar, Akhil Bharti National Organization Minister of Vidya Bharti said that the draft National Education Policy has come among all of us after long deliberations. After independence, the nature of national education has come among all of us. This draft is the responsibility of all of us to land it. Education is the most important area for the nation. Education is free from all qualities and diseases in making this nation a bright, great power. Basic education is most important. Yatindra ji said that family, school, society have to pay attention while making policies. Experiences of the past, the challenges of the present, how to build an India of the future have been the focus of this policy. Illiteracy has to free the country from malnutrition. The number of school children is very large, it has also been considered in this policy. Development should not be a test oriented development.
Age groups require consideration. You have to take care of how the senses develop. Courses will have to be designed to bring down eternal life values. You have to think about making a great human being in it. The idea of setting up packages is done. Till now the idea of education was in pieces, this new education policy has been widely considered. We are working awake.
Our responsibility is to build a new India through this New Education Policy. India was known as Vishwa Guru in the world, now the time has come when it has started. For this, all of us have to prepare an atmosphere, an atmosphere in the country. Vidya Bharati is going to play an important role in the implementation of the action plan. The work of creating awareness in the country will be done to raise awareness on the new education policy 2020 from 25th birth anniversary of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay ji to 2nd October Gandhi Jayanti.
