New Delhi: The Union Cabinet meeting on Wednesday was chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in which the government took many important decisions. Union Minister PrakashJavadekar later informed about the key decisions during a press conference. The official language bill for Jammu and Kashmir was passed during the meeting. Also, the biggest bureaucratic reform initiative- 'Mission Karmayogi' was also approved by the Modi government.
The mission aims at capacity building of government employees. While giving details of the decisions on Wednesday, Union Minister Prakash Javadekar said, "The Modi government has approved the Karmayogi scheme and the official language bill for Jammu and Kashmir has also been passed."Urdu and English were also added to the list of the official languages of Jammu & Kashmir which already had three official languages. The Karmayogi Mission is focused on skill enhancement of civil servants preparing them for the future.
According to the government, under the Karmayogi scheme, civil servants will be tried to focus on new technology, their potential. The skills of civil servants will be enhanced after the recruitment of Karmayogi scheme. The process will include developing Civil servants at individual as well as institutional aspects.
Mission Karmayogiaims to prepare Indian civil servants for the future by making them more creative, imaginative, proactive, progressive, energetic, capable, transparent, and technology-enabled. The Department of Personnel and Training Secretary C.Chandramouli said, "For this mission, an HR Council will be set up under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, whose job will be to decide on the appointment under the entire mission.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi while sharing about the Mission Karmayogi tweeted, "National Program for Civil Services Capacity Buildingapproved in today’s cabinet will radically improve the Human Resource management practices in the Government. It will use scale & state of the art infrastructure to augment the capacity of Civil Servants."
A large-scale online platform will also be created for this scheme. Secretary C. Chandramouli said, a civil servant must be imaginative and innovative, active and humble, progressive, energetic and capable, transparent and tech-enabled, and creative to face the challenges of society. The mission will focus not only on the individual capacity building of the Karmayogi civil servant but also on the Institutional capacity building and process.
Union Minister Prakash Javadekar said, it has been decided to bring the Official Language Bill 2020 for Jammu and Kashmir. Urdu, Kashmiri, Dogri, Hindi and English will be the official languages. Dogri, Hindi, and Kashmiri were included in Jammu and Kashmir for a long time as the official languages.
