Lucknow: With slighter festivities in temple this year, begins the ‘Shravan/Saavan Maas’ remarking the beginning of monsoon season in India. This month is all inclusive of devotion to Lord Shiva. Due to Covid19 pandemic, while most of the temple in the cities celebrated it inside the premises, the citizen went for creatively celebrating it inside their homes.

Prayas Das Gupta, a film student who waited to capture this year’s pooja in his camera had to stay in. He then performed the rituals on a little beautiful Shivalinga. Prayas said, “Though the situation is different but Indians are always keen enough not to step aback.”

Aparajita Singh who lives in Jankipuram is a mother to her 5year old kid. On this occasion, she got her son Dev to paint and decorate a place for the Shivalinga. “In order to teach children about culture one needs to actually get them to do it themselves and then let them celebrate. That’show they realise its importance and its divinity.” This auspicious month will continue till 5 Mondays until Rakshabandhan.
