Jitendra Singh e-Inaugurates “Puneja Bridge” & “Devika Bridge” in J&K

J&K: Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh has electronically inaugurated two bridges “Puneja Bridge” & “Devika Bridge” at Doda and Udhampur districts respectively in Jammu and Kashmir. The Bridge on River Devika in Udhampur has been completed by Border Roads Organisation within 15 months time. The Puneja Bridge was also constructed by Border Roads Organisation (BRO) in 36 months. The estimated cost of building Devika Bridge was 75 Lakhs whereas of Puneja bridge was 4 Crore.

Talking on the e-inauguration of the most required Devika River Bridge, Dr Singh said that the 70-year-old demand of the people got fulfilled and will become a game-changer for traffic issues in the area and also it will help them in the smooth passage of Army convoys and there will lessen the traffic congestion. He added that in this global pandemic also the Government has not compromised with the development of the country which was as promised by the PM Narendra Modi. 

He even appreciated the efforts made by the Border Roads Organization for building more that 200 bridges in last 4-5 years. Dr.Singh also said that this Government is constantly working to connect different states through expressways and the day is not far when it will take only six hours to reach Delhi from Udhampur upon completion of the Delhi-Katra Expressway.
