
Mumbai: In a recent tragic incident, dozens of people got trapped under the debris following a building collapse in a residential area of Mahad in Raigad District, Maharashtra. According to the officials, the building named Tarique Garden and it was a four-storey building with around 40-45 residential flats. Around 2 people have lost their lives while 18 are still trapped in the building.
According the information, around 50 people were inside the building at the time of collapse. According to the officials, the local rescue teams were trying for the rescue of people trapped inside. However, the teams of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) are also present at the collapse site for the rescue.

The rescue teams are making efforts to rescue the people who are trapped inside. At the same time, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray discussed the situation with MLA Bharat Gogavale and District Collector Nidhi Chaudhary.
Following the incident, the Twitter account of State's Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray office tweeted, "CM Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray spoke to MLA @BharatGogawale and Collector Nidhi Chaudhary to inquire about the building collapse in Mahad. He has assured them that all possible support will be extended for speedy rescue & relief works."

While praying for the safety of those trapped, Union Home Minister Amit Shah tweeted, "The collapse of a building in Raigad, Maharashtra is very tragic. Have spoken to DG @NDRFHQ to provide all possible assistance, teams are on the way and will be assisting with the rescue operations as soon as possible. Praying for everyone’s safety."

Earlier, a same unfortunate incident occur near Rizvi College in Mumbai’s Bandra where a vacant building collapsed on August 18.
