AIIMS to start clinical trial of Covaxin from Monday

New Delhi: Coronavirus is becoming uncontrollable worldwide. The seriousness of the case can be gauged from the fact that in the last hundred hours, there have been one million positive cases of Covid-19 in the world. The total corona patients in the world have surged to 14 million while, the number of deaths has now crossed 6 lakh. In such situation, scientists of all the major countries across the world are working round the clock to develop vaccines for its prevention.

According to the reports, around 120 vaccines are in operation in 30 countries. The vaccine project of Russia and China is currently being considered to be at the forefront, but scientists in India are preparing to launch indigenous covid-19 vaccine on August 15, that is, Independence Day.

Meanwhile, Union Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan tweeted that human trial of indigenous corona vaccine covaxcine will start from Monday. He said that, for the past several months, there have been positive signs of ongoing efforts to develop the Corona vaccine. We will soon get a complete victory over this epidemic.

The indigenous Corona vaccine is being manufactured by Hyderabad-based pharmaceutical company Bharat Biotech. Till now, no side effects have been reported in the initial trials on humans. Now the human trials of this vaccine have started in 14 major health institutions of the country including Delhi AIIMS. ICMR scientists are monitoring human trial data.

Microsoft founder Bill Gates spoke of India's achievement in his tweet last week. He said that, Many pharmaceutical companies in India have expertise to make vaccines for every disease and Bharat Biotech is also one of these.
