New Delhi. The three judge branch of Supreme Court observed that Rajasthan state government has taken all necessary and precautious steps regarding covid-19 and no coronavirus case was located in examination centre. The Rajasthan Board of secondary exams of class 12th are over while the exams of class 10th are going to be held as the plea for its cancellation has been refused.
The special bench was headed by justices AM Khanwilkar, Dinesh Maheshwari and Sanjiv Khanna. The three judges observed that the petitioners have approached the court at the last moment and such pleas must be taken earlier not a day before the exam.
All the measures and precautions regarding Covid-19 have been taken by Rajasthan state government. The top court observed, "The exams are set to start from tomorrow and petitioners have not pointed out any major inconvenience."
Maghi devi, a mother of class 10th student filed an appeal. The petitioner also argued about 120 schools, that are going to be exam centres and were used as isolation centres for migrant workers. Over 11 lakh students will be exposed to the virus if they are allowed to give the exams.
"Taking all over view of the matter, we decline to interfere in this special leave petition" and "the special plea petition is dismissed accordingly" said the court.
