Evan Williams Twitter Co-founder steps down from Company Board

San Francisco. Twitter Inc. announced the departure of its co-founder Evan Williams from the company board of directors. The announcement was made by Williams in a securities filings. He will officially step down as the co -founder by the end of the month. Presently working as the Chief Executive Officer of the online publishing house- Medium, Evan Williams served as the Twitter's CEO from 2008 to 2010.  

“I'm very lucky to have served on the board for 12 years. It's been overwhelmingly interesting, educational and, at times, challenging’' tweeted Williams.

 He went onto add that stepping down will let him focus on other projects but he will still continue to root for Twitter.

Williams was the second-largest Twitter shareholder on the company’s board behind the CEO & co-founder Jack Dorsey.

Jack Dorsey also tweeted his appreciation for Evan Williams, stressing that his absence will be felt.
