Farakka express derailed near Raebareil, many feared dead

10-Oct-2018EGr0FmV1Ni1Lucknow, Oct 10: Five coaches and the engine of New Farakka express were derailed on Wednesday morning near Raebareli, Uttar Pradesh. In the accident, atleast four people are dead and many injured. The number of casualties is likely to rise.

Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) of Northern Railway Satish Kumar said that the accident happened near Harchandpur at around 6:05 am.

The officials said that a team of doctors in a medical relief van has been sent to the site in Lucknow and emergency helpline numbers have been set up at the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya junction (Mughalsarai). All ups and down trains on the route will be blocked until the rescue operation is going on.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed his condolences and directed Director General of Police to take the necessary measures.
