Spardha 2018: Rural Development for Developed India

Varanasi, Oct 6: IIT BHU organized Spardha 2018 in association with Unite Foundation, Newstimes Network and Fastrack. The motto ‘Rural Development for Developed India’ is designated by Unite Foundation. 


The chief guest of the event was AmitPanghal, Indian amateur boxer, Gold medalist at 2018 Asian Games, apart from him, Dr P.K. Tripathi, Vice President, Unite Foundation, Radhey Shyam Dixit, Resident Editor, Newstimes Network, Prof. B. N. Rai, Dean of Student Welfare, IIT BHU, Prof. R.S. Singh, Counsellor, Games and Sports Council, IIT BHU were also present at the event.


A  5 km stretch mini-marathon was organized where 425 students from different institutions participated. The marathon commenced from Gymkhana ground and was concluded at the same place. In boys’ marathon, Santosh, Shravanand Umesh Pal secured first, second and third rank respectively. Similarly, in the girls’ marathon, Premlata secured the first position while Shivangi and Deepanjali were on the second and third rank respectively.


AmitPanghal boosted the morale of the students saying, “Youth of this nation should come forward and participate in sports. Sports is a means to serve the nation and today sports is must for health and well being of us.”


Radhey Shyam Dixit talked about Unite foundation and said, “Unite Foundation aims to establish milestone connectivity for people having or developing an idea for change in the society for the betterment of the world. Sports is one such field where we need to excel for this we need to motivate people pursuing sports. The society should motivate such students and individuals.  Unite Foundation is one such platform which provides you all life long connectivity and provides support in your interest based field.”


Prof. R.S. Singh highlighted the importance of the sports saying that Sports is a vital ingredient of our life and we should participate and practice things with a practical approach in life.


Unite Foundation has provided certificates and membership cards to the participants. The benefit they hold after this is that they can be a part of various activities of Unite Foundation, share their ideas with the world.
