Three doctors get 3 years jail term for Incorrect postmortem report
Lucknow, Jul 18: The Chief Judicial Magistrate court sentenced three doctors to three years jail term each for preparing an incorrect postmortem report of a14 year old girl who was murdered in the premises of Nighasan police staion of Lakhimpur Kheri district in June 2011.

The court of judicial magistrate Sunil Prasad  also slapped a fine of Rs. 10,000 on the three who had carried out the first postmortem in the case .

Prosecuting officer SP Yadav said the three convicted doctors were granted bail under Section 389 of the Criminal Procedure Code after the verdict.

Yadav said DR Surendra Pratabh Singh  DR Ajay Kumar Agarwal , and DR Arun Kumar Sharma who were them posted at the Kheri district hospital, had describe the cause of the death to be hanging in their post.

A prosecuting the officer said CID inspector Harpal Singh had lodge the first information report as under section 218 of the Indian Penal Code on charges of minsrepresenting facts in their report-modern report. He added that during the trial, the charges were proved right in the court.

The girl along with her brother, had gone to the area to graze her cattle but later her body was found hanging from the branch of an uprooted tree. Her mother lodged an FIR against the convicts for rape and murder.

On June 11,2011, then the Kheri SP Dk Rai cited a postmortem report by three member of the team of district hospital doctors to describe hanging as the cause of the death.

However,  her mother remained firm on her stand and her view was escosed  by a number of politicians. Then the BSP government ordered a first postmortem by the doctors of the other district, besides handling over the investigation to CID on June 12, 2011. Second postmortem report established the cause of the death to be strangulation.
