Lucknow, July 5: People often snore during sleeping, but this habit of snoring may cause heart problems to them, says a study at KGMU. Ssuch people should consult doctor, said experts at a two-day conference on heart problems concluded on Sunday.

By establishing and implementing a well-coordinated robust programme involving all key sectors to improve care and management of heart attacks can significantly reduce disability as well as avert untimely deaths” said Professor (Dr) Rishi Sethi, Organizer Secretary of the conference and senior and interventional at cardiologist at King George’s Medical University (KGMU).

Coordinator for the conference and international cardiologist at KGMU, Dr Akshyaya Pradhan said, “A board meeting between officials of National Health Mission (NHM), Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), STEMI India, and experts from other states and healthcare institution took place to discuss implementation of the model from south India to deal with heart attack cases.”

Professor Rishi Sethi said it was decided in the high level board meeting that among Indian states where there is no STEMI care model yet, Uttar Pradesh will be piloted by us, using ‘Hub and spoke’ approach of Tamil Nadu over the next one year.
