Abandoning cows will be penalised in Haryana

Chandigarh, Feb 13: To abandon milch cow  in Haryana will be penalised from now on. Those abandoning will have to pay a fine of Rs. 5,100.
Haryana Gau Seva Aayog Chairman Bhani Ram Mangla said: "For this purpose, a mobile application is being prepared with the assistance of information technology cell in the state, which will reveal information about the location of the animal on the basis of a tag number."
"Registration of these centres will be mandatory and a committee of learned persons set up for their functioning. The Aayog will give a lump sum amount of Rs 5,000 per cow annually," he added.
Mangla also announced the decision of government to establish ‘Gau Seva Kendras’ (Cow service centres) in villages for the safety of ‘Gauvansh’.
The Aayog would give a lump sum amount of Rs 5,000 per cow annually for its rearing. Mangla said that 90 per cent grant would be given on equipment used to make flowerpots, soaps, lamps, dhoop and other items from cow urine and cow dung.
