SpaceX Falcon Heavy: Great rocket launch or best fireworks- Newstimes News

Washington, Feb 6: SpaceX will be test launching its Falcon Heavy rocket on Tuesday from Kennedy Space Center which is the first ever launch of the new heavy-lift orbital rocket.

   What is Falcon Heavy?

The rocket is built by Elon Musk owned company SpaceX which is especially known for successfully reusing the rocket boosters to minimise the cost. After sending their payloads into the orbit, they’re safely guided back to earth.

Falcon heavy will become most powerful rocket, if the launch is successful as the thrust is generated by its 27 Merlin engines, which is three times the number of engines present in the current Falcon 9 rocket.

There are three rocket boosters attached to the Falcon heavy, and all of them will be guided back and two of them will attempt a synchronized landing back at Kennedy Space Center, and the third will land on SpaceX’s droneship.

   Success ratio

There are huge chances that the launch won’t become successful. But because of it’s design it’s not possible to test that on ground.

So, SpaceX is trying to take a risk to see if the project is a success.

Elon Musk said in a statement that, "People [came] from all around the world to see either it will be a great rocket launch or the best fireworks display they've ever seen."

   The X factor

Company will not send any dummies into the space, but it will carry Elon’s cherry red Roadster and a dummy will be sitting inside the car wearing a SpaceX suit and the car will play an endless loop of David Bowie's "Space Oddity."
