According to KGMU officials, the system will use Artificial Intelligence (AI) based radar to screen patients. "In order to ensure that the doctors and staff involved in the testing and treatment of coronavirus patients are safe, the KGMU will test the suspects and provide treatment to the patients through 'intelligent patient screening' and surveillance system," the KGMU officials said.

Sheetal Verma, nodal-in-charge of the telemedicine unit, KGMU told, "the Evolko Health radar will quickly screen the suspected person and the system will inform the OPD doctors about the suspect of coronavirus." Further she added that, KGMU is the first medical university to start using AI for patient management during coronavirus pandemic.

The technology will help the doctors in observing the symptoms in suspects in lesser time. This will reduce the workforce physically present with the Patients. The radar has been set up at the hospital's Coronavirus OPD and the new OPD block.
