COVID-19 scare: Tirupati Balaji temple to be shut for devotees, cinemas and malls closed in Andhra Pradesh

Andhra Pradesh: The coronavirus is wreaking havoc across the country. In order to curb the spread of virus, the state government has announced on Thursday that all the famous temples including the shrine of Lord Venkateswara in Tirumala. While, all the cinema houses and malls have been shutdown in Andhra Pradesh till March 31.  


The Deputy Chief Minister said, "the daily rituals in all the temples will be performed by the priests. Only the devotees will not be allowed to enter the premises of temple." He also mentioned that, major place of worship of the other religions would also be closed. 


AK Srinivas, Medical and Health official briefed the media about High level meeting on Coronavirus chaired by Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy. He said, the restrictions came into force when second positive case if coronavirus was reported in the state.
