SBI conducts branch level meetings across Uttar Pradesh

Lucknow. The State Bank of India organised discussion sessions of all the 39 regional offices inclusive of those within Uttar Pradesh. The deliberation was focused on generating ideas and reviewing bank's performance parelleling the national priorities. 17th and 18th August 2019, saw the first stage of the consultative process by SBI, at Regional Level, including all the branches of the State. Mrs. Saloni Narayan, Chief General Manager SBI chaired the performance review of 120 branches in Lucknow. 

Being the first of its kind, the branches themselves had to ponder upon the issues of banking sector, analyse their performance and work on strategies to move forward. The discussions were based on 9 themes viz, Corporate Governance in PSB, Increase in Digital Payments, Enabling bank credit towards a $ 5 Tn economy. Increasing credit to various sectors of economy, making banking more citizen oriented alongwith increasing responsibility towards farmers, senior citizens, small industrialists, students, women and youth. 
The meet reviewed its alignment with national priorities like Blue economy, MSME, Jal Shakti, Mudra Loans, education loans, green economy, credit support for economic growth, infrastructure/industry & farm sector. 
The deliberations led to several innovative suggestions on how PSBs and SBI can improve their performance. Post the SBLC level, final consultations will be held at national level to compare intra and inter bank performances. The meeting saw the presence of Mr. Sudesh Bhatt Regional Manager Region 7, Mr. Manish Uppal Regional Manager Region 5, Mr. Amit Jog Regional Manager Region 1 among others.
