Jio Fiber: Plan starts at Rs 700, commercially available from Sept 5

New Delhi. Reliance Chairman Mukesh Ambani announced the availibility of Jio Fiber commercially from September 5, 2019, in the 42nd Annual General Meeting in Mumbai. Mukesh Ambani further said that Jio Fiber rollout will be completed in the next 12 months. Jio Fiber plans have been priced between Rs 700 to Rs 10,000 a month. The base plans start at 100 Mbps and will go up to 1 Gbps. Mukesh Ambani said, “Today, I want to announce that starting 5 September, on the third anniversary of Jio, we are commercially launching Jio Fiber. In relation to Jio Fiber, its base price will start at 100 Mbps and goes up to 1Gbps.” 

Jio Fiber Subscribers will avail free voice calling. The users will either pay for voice or data. Unlimited voice calls plans will be available for Rs 500 for US and Canada. Jio Fiber will come bundled with subscriptions to most OTT platforms. Mukesh Ambani mentioned that 15 million registrations have been received in 16000 towns. Jio has targeted to reach 20 million homes in India through Jio Fiber. 


“We have drawn up a plan to reach businesses, homes in these towns. We are confident of completing network rollout in the next 12 months. We have installed Jio Fiber in half a million homes in the last year. We have found that these trial homes on an average consuming more than 100 GB per month. This usage is increasing with each passing day. We offer 1GBps speeds and landline connection and digital set-top-box, HD entertainment, voice-enabled assistance, and many other smart home solutions with Jio Fiber,” informed Ambani in the AGM.
