J&K: RaGa demands "transparency" in the matter. Govt repudiates violence reports.

New Delhi. The Indian government has rejected the news of escalating tension in Kashmir Valley. A video has been put up of various districts in Jammu Kasmir, showing people conducting their everyday business. But the Opposition remains unconvinced. The emerging reports of  "death and violence" from Kashmir Valley resulted in ceasing the meeting of the Working Congress Committee. 

Congress' Former President Rahul Gandhi stated that PM Modi should address the concerns in "transparent manner". While the Kashmir Police has said that no untowrad incident has been reported in the Valley, in recent days. Taking to Twitter, Srinagar Police said, “Situation in the Valley has remained normal today. No untoward incident has been reported. At selective locations restriction was lifted temporarily.” 

The government has issued a statement, saying the DGP and Chief Secretary BVR Subrahmanyam requested people not to believe fake and motivated news regarding firing incidents in the Valley. The statement further notified that in the past 6 days, no firing incident has occured in Kashmir. The situation remains calm and people are cooperative. Restrictions are being relaxed to ease the situation.
