Special judge seeks 6 months from SC to end trial in Babri Masjid demolition case

New Delhi. A special judge holding trial in the Babri Masjid demolition case, moved the Supreme Court soliciting for 6 more months to conclude the trial.
In a letter written in May, the judge informed the Apex Court about his superannauation due on September 30, 2019. The Babri Masjid demolition case involves BJP veterans like Murli Manohar Joshi, Lal Krishna Advani among others. 

On Monday, the case came up for hearing before the panel headed by Justice R.F Nariman, which asked the Uttar Pradesh government to intimate it by 19 July a procedure of extending the tenure of the special judge till he delivers the verdict in the politically sensitive 1992 Babri Masjid demolition case.
On April 19, 2017, the top court had commanded day-to-day trial to be concluded in two years in the high profile case.
