6 serial blasts rock Sri Lanka: 160 killed, more than 350 injured

New Delhi. Amid Easter celebrations, six serial blasts rocked Sri Lanka in the wee hours of Sunday morning, reported the sources. Sources revealed that the explosions were heard near St. Anthony's Church in Kochikade,  St. Sebastian's Church in Katuwapitiya, a church in Batticaloa, another church in Negombo i.e North of Colombo, Shangri La Hotel and Cinnamon Grand Hotel. 

160 deaths and more than 350 injured have been reported so far. Police spokesman Ruwan Gunasekera told the sources that the blasts were heard around 8:45 am at the time when the Easter Sunday masses were in progress. 

The first blast ripped through St. Anthony's Shrine in Colombo. Reports state that the Christian community in Sri Lanka was the prime target on Easter. No group or individual has claimed responsibility for the attack so far.
